Beginner in need of help

Hey guys I am new to DJ’ing stuff and This is my first time posting on these forums!
I have a few questions, and it would be awesome if anyone has time to answer them. I have been interested in this stuff for a while so i went ahead and bought an American Audio VMS4(fail?)

And after 30 mins of messing with it i could tell that the VDJ LE was very limiting.. so i got Traktor going and tried to import some maps, but there are no good maps that i can find for it.. everything is super glitchy(certain buttons doing nothing on dif maps)

Does anyone know of a map for Traktor that actually works with the vms4?

Or should i just cut my losses and get a different controller?

If so any ideas on a good controller for a beginner to get?

Or is it worth using the VMS4 with just VDJ LE for a while?

I’ve seen quiet a few people cutting their losses with the VMS4 and getting something different.

you cant import maps in Traktor LE

that being said, i recommend buying the full version of traktor pro

I am using the demo version of Traktor with the intension of buying it if i could get the maps to work.

Alright, do you have any ideas for good starter rigs? or pretty much anything else?

The full version of VDJ isnt limiting… Why not just upgrade? Also there is a VMS version of traktor now shipping with the unit. Not telling you what to do or anything but it might be a good idea to take a look around the AA site… Im just sayin.

.tsi mappings will work with traktor pro, but not LE.

if you dont like any of those mappings, you can make a REALLY in depth one in about 2hrs and a basic one in maybe 30

About getting the full version of VDJ, does anyone actually use it? for some reason i thought some people say its a joke,but that would definitely be an option if it is viable

you get a discounted upgrade for having traktor le (im a tad biased, but this is fact)

VDJ IS ok, but it has a bad rep for 12 year olds torrenting it and thinking there tiesto.

it comes down to FX (most of the stuff i hear is complaints on how bad VDJs are, even from unbiased users) and the UI (layout).

Well i dont have traktor LE but it seems like the way to go,
any ideas of a good controller to get if i return my vms4? maybe a VCI-something? Thanks again.

I would go with the VCI-100SE, basically same price as the VMS4..

alright so i am thinking about getting a vci but can anyone tell me the difference between the vci-100 and vci-100SE? thanks
