Beginner: too stupid to play samples

Hi Folks,
i watched Eans VCI100 SE mapping video severals times,
but i didnt get the recorded samples played.

Can please somebody tell me how it works?
At 5th minute he shows how to sample, but not how to play the sampled part.

it plays automatically as soon as it recorded 8 beats..

that means it plays 8 beats as soon as i stop recording? Seems useless… what about looping, saving or play it later?
