**Beginners guide to midi mapping - does this exist?**

Hi all,
I have been searching online for a guide to explain midi mapping to me, but I have not found anything helpful.
I am not looking for anything specific to any one controller, but more a general guide so I can understand the principals of it.
I have lots of basic questions, for example, what is the difference between “note” “cc” and “bend” ?
Stuff like that.
Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks, P

Sounds like you’re lookiing more for a guide to General midi, than Midi Mapping. They’re (kinda) two different things…

Try the DJTT Blog for Traktor Mapping Guides.

Try these for Midi:

> **[MIDI](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIDI)**
>
> Musical Instrument Digital Interface (/ˈmɪdi/; MIDI) is an American-Japanese technical standard that describes a communication protocol, digital interface, and electrical connectors that connect a wide variety of electronic musical instruments, computers, and related audio devices for playing, editing, and recording music. A single MIDI cable can carry up to sixteen channels of MIDI data, each of which can be routed to a separate device. Each interaction with a key, button, knob or slider is c...

And these for Midi Mapping (in Traktor):

I found the ones above yesterday and found them quite useful. If you find any more, even MORE basic guides to Midi Mapping in Traktor, let me know! 👍
