Best basic editing software

Hey guys I have question. I just picked up a powerbook g4 12" from a user on here. Wanted something portable and something that I could take to do simple stuff while out and about. I had the idea that I can just use it for editing songs and basic Id3 tagging while i’m out. Stuff like taking an acapella and cutting it up just to get the stuff I want. What’s the best software for this? Does quicktime pro allow you to cut the track up. That I imagine would be the simplest tool.

Audacity is the best free audio editing software ever.

But it sounds like shit…

No it doesn’t.

Audacity does? How so…

win.

These are the best arguments ever

“No they aren’t. This is just simple contradiction: the automatic nay-saying of whatever the other person says!”

“No it isn’t”

“YES IT IS!”

I don’t care, I’m so happy with my Sound Forge, that’s a good sound!

See, and if you had said “I’m so happy with Sound Forge” to begin with this could have been a much more productive thread.

Less fun, though.
