Best Needle/Cartridge for a DVS set up?
I have always used Shure M44-7s. I am a turntablist but I am still relatively new to Serato and my DVS set up (Pioneer DJM-T1, 2 1200 MKIIs, SL1 box, several different midi devices). I have been slow to convert from vinyl, what can I say, I am a creature of habit.
My question is what are the best needles for scratching on a DVS set up? If you have the time, ideally I would like to know the best needles/cartridges starting on a low budget to the best money can buy. Thanks for the advice!
Oddly enough, it’s the Shure m44-7’s. Stick like glue + low record wear = ideal DVS scratch cartridge, there isn’t really much of a contest with anything else in my opinion. I’m actually looking at new carts myself, but because I have been doing more gigging with actual vinyl recently I’m probably going to go for the Ortofon s-120’s as my DVS needs, scratch or no, are handled by my Denon decks anyway.
Well alrighty then. I have been getting this terrible gurgling sound that seems to come from the needles. I figured maybe there was a better option but I am cool sticking with the Shures. They have been great for a long time. I still enjoy using my vinyl whenever possible also.
