Hey all! I am on the prowl for some new everyday carry headphones.
I am looking very specifically for OVER EAR headphones for this application as I will have them on for long periods of time. I will use them for mainly music listening to. I listen to mainly Electrohouse and things of that nature, I will do some gaming on them but not a whole lot. I have a large Irish Melon for a head so they either need to be flexible or big to start with. I currently use Razer Orcas and they are LOVELY. Very comfortable, good sound, but alas after 2 years of honorable service are giving up on me. And lastly I need them to have a removable cable and my budget is around 200$ CAD.
Summery:
Over Ear
Music and Some Gaming (PC)
Compatible for Large Heads
Removable Cable
200$ CAD
EDIT: Please make sure they are available from a Canadian site. Such sites are: avshop.ca, tomleemusic.ca, amazon.ca, etc.
I have the V-Moda LP(regular) and I use them for everyday use. They could be a bit more clear in the high and mid range. The bass is definitely “colored”, but I use them for exactly what you described above. Oh, and they are cheaper…
Thanks for the input!! I didn’t even let them cross my mind for some reason.. I’ve got a 20% off code for DDJT so I’ll probably pull the trigger on the LP2’s.
^ he said over ear not on ear but the HD-25 are dope i prefer the AIAIAI-TMA-1 over them and the AIAIAI has a better price if your looking for an “On Ear” headphone.
The thing with the crossfade is to buy it from its website in order to make custom shields with your logo however you can buy it individually if you want to
shiver The Studio’s are Quite possibly THE most uncomfortable headphones I have EVER tried.
Fact!
I’d honestly suggest to the OP that he actually goes into a headphone shop, I don’t believe anything as subjective as a set of headphones (certainly not in $200+ bracket) should be bought on the reviews or suggestions of others online.
Even if you are buying online, I’d say actually try them first, there must be some kind of bricks and mortar hifi / dj / headphone shop within a bus or car journey ?
People Rave about TMA’s I found them really horrible, people rave about Vmoda’s I found them really comfortable but lacking in frequencies I’m used to, people rave about HD25’s, I like them but find they clamp too hard for long periods, people rave about HDJ2000’s I find them too big etc .. etc …
I already have the TMA Studios for.. well in the studio (Music making, video editing, etc) when I can’t have my monitors on like later at night.
I have the Westone UM2’s for DJ’ing.
Now I just need a set of EDC cans and I’m thinking I’ll go with the V-Moda LP2’s as I am ordering today. Worst come to worst, I get them, hate them, return them, and buy something else. It isn’t the world’s end.
