I got my custom arcylic top panel from Simon @ Big Blue Saw. The total cost was about $40 shipped, which was about $80 cheaper than my lowest quote. The turn around time was extremely fast, not even 4 days(upload of dxf to shipped to my home in Ohio.)
I am extremely satisfied with the service provided by Simon.
The only downside is on my part. I did not measure some of the holes correctly so I am going to have to ream them out.(I used the measurement of the button and not the mounting hole, (funny stuff) )
Here are some pictures of the panel, and my controller progress.
Yes im going to use it to control 4 decks. There will be 1 slide pot in the top right to change tempos with deck focus (the four squares next to the x-session. are for deck focus)
Sorry I didn’t see this until today. I’m glad the panel I made worked out well for you. The controller looks great so far; keep us updated on your progress!
It’s 95% done, all I need to do is mount the 2nd jog wheel, and add some risers for the top plate. Its fully mapped with the x-session pro, I messed around on it for about an hour today.
I’ll post up pics tomorrow when I get my cam from my brother.
Meh; good enough for now. I’ll get the jogs hooked up when I get some time.
I also gotta add a slide pot still, but thats getting ordered when I get the rest of my V7 clone stuff.
My total cost will be under $150(including the x-session pro).
this is ace i have been trying to make my own custom faceplate for this My 100th post (been saving this)
controller in a flight case, whats the best thing to create a dxf drawing? the plastic fabricators I have found in the UK is not as cheap as what you got yours for, i have been quoted £80 for a piece half the size of yours (it equates to about $125-130).
Lol its like 5 coats of white and clear, but its already starting to chip Next time I’ll be sure to send you an email for a specific color. I got a few ideas roaming around in my head for new controllers(and a few ideas for you to make some $$$(feel free to PM me on this) but ATM I am focusing on getting school squared away.
@ Herb
To create the DXF drawing I used eMachineShop, then just exported the file. Their prices are absurd, but the program is ace. The closest to AUTOCAD I could find.
BigBlueSaw also has a DXF program on their site, if that is too confusing email/PM Simon and I’m sure he could get you a quote. $125 for a piece that small is pretty absurd.
Cheers man had a look on big blue saw, i think it atomatically made dxf and saved it on my computer (not sure where) i would get it off bigblue but they quoted me about the same $122. then shipping would also cost lots to the uk. cheers for the help
Edit: wait a minute checked a few different materials got a quote of $70 including shipping for the design below in 3mm black plastic which i think it pretty awesome price from the states
thanks again.
