Black Ops
So I got black Ops on DVD for my PC.
Installed it, Steam pops up and says I have to download the game - all 16Gb of it - from the most crowded servers in the history of the Internet.
What is the point of getting a disc when you can’t use it.
And yeah I’ve read all the crap about installing from disc - command lines etc.. but could I bollox like get it to work.
Stupid fookahs - I wanna shoot people today not tomorrow.
Back to pacman for a bit…
I guess if all else fails eating ghosts will do.
I bought and installed it today on PC and had no crazy 16GB download on steam to get?
Everything I needed was on the disc. Took about 10 mins to get up and running and have been crushing my enemies on multiplayer all day. FUN TIMES!
i got the ps3 version lastnight @ best buy, its pretty sick. I just dont like the standing to prone kills (new n00b-tube)

Thats the one reason I bought the PS3 version. If you own a game, you should be able to slip the disc in and start the shooting, not install, update, patch, verify…wait…wait…play. Steam sucks a$$

All of a sudden last night my download speed jumped to 2.5mb/s so finally got to have a quick go before bed and it seems pretty good so far.
I’ve got the xbox version as well for my lad but I prefer FPS on pc…
My kids both want an Xbox for Christmas so I’ll probably venture into the FPS world shortly after that.
Black Ops is a good game, but didn’t live up to the name in my opinion… SC2, Fallout, Dead Rising ftw
My disc of Civilization V just contained one of those regular Steam backups that you can make yourself. Put the disc in and run the installer on the disc and stuff should copy off the disc instead of download.
