I take it you didnt buy the apple protection plan ?
The apple protection plan came with my mac freshman year ( all computers purchased through the univesity do), anyways, one morning I awoke to a pile of vomit on my keyboard, cleaned it up real nice, but they refused to fix the keyboard because of water damage… Luckily just the keyboard lost function, I was able to use a wireless keyboard until I purchased the Mac I have now. Anywaysss, the guy at the mac store said they never cover water damage, pretty annoying because they replaced my sisters 600 dollar dell no questions
My friends macbook got water spilt on it and he just claimed of his home insurance for a new one, cant you try that? Otherwise I suggest putting it an airing cupboard or similar and leaving it there for like a few weeks to let it dry out. The same friend did this, came back like a month later and it worked perfectly, he sold it on ebay for like £500, so he had gained like £200 and a new macbook!
What’s an airing cupboard?
Oh it must just be an England thing…
sometimes doing the right thing isn’t always the most morally correct thing. :eek:This is what I would do.(Do not highlight below if you are going to give a speech on lying and learning your lessons)
the macbooks have water damage indicators. your best best is to disassemble it to clean it and avoid corrosion, also buy new water indicator strips. Then take it in and claim it is a lemon.
More info here;
Some say a little bleach might do the trick also.

i once read that people who got water damage in their iPhones did betray apple by doing something illegal as: (highlight if interested)
take out the water damage indicater and bleach it. Completely illegal and i strictly do not advise anyone to do this. But it worked for several criminal people who felt screwed by apple.
you’re a magician! :eek:
thank you so much! i’m calling my home insurance agent person guy. lol, it should be covered under ‘personal property’ and should be covered! =D
if not, i have some bleach and a hate for corporations.
The force is strong in this one
bleach or replace liquid damage indicator?
how would a criminal take out the water damage indicators?
Couldn’t it be bleached without taking the indicators (with a little brush to apply bleach precisely?)
Cheers!
