bricked spectra

I received a midifighter spectra as a gift. It was working fine then suddenly stopped working. I have tried the utility also tried both windows and mac but it isn’t even recognized even in device management. the only thing I can get it to do is light up when I

reset it or press the four corners and plug it in. it lights up in checkerboard. but that is it please help me!!!

Have you tried using a different cable? had this happen to me once with my 3D so I tried a different cable and it worked fine after that.

The checkerboard pattern indicates the bootloader mode which means that your unit is soft bricked.
