argh i could go nuts! yesterday when i was having a little session in traktor there was this strange noise (like a mobile on a wooden ground vibrating just louder) comming out of my laptop:eek:. i was like now way this can´t be happening now. the laptop is just 4 months old, so luckily a still have guarantee. but still this sucks big time. i hope it is just the fan that broke. never had the laptop laying on a pillow or anything like this. always on a stand. i hope they can fix it. wish me luck!!!
good news is, that is covered under AppleCare. Thats the great thing about having a Mac… I can’t believe you would have such a problem with a new Mac… um, you do have a mac right?
I agree with LanceBlaise, you have a mac so no worries? Some pc manufactures will have your laptop for 1 month. So it all comes down to their tech support quality.
I though the Panda Earl had a Dell?
Then this whole comment-thing is bit cruel. Best of luck with the repairs; while I agree with the others on the Apple-service (in Germany), I hope that if it’s not an Apple, you still get your Laptop back very soon!
EDIT: No, it’s a Sony! So offically: “That comments where mean!”. Still, good luck with the repairs!
yap right never mentioned what brand i´m sorry! it is a sony vaio. dunno how the good the service here in germany is. i hope it´s good enough to satisfy me
I once opened a old sony vaio because the fan was making strange noises. I bought a replacement part from ebay and repaired it myself. But it was a computer with no warranty.
It’s very easy, you just need to know the name of the part (checking a sony pdf) then find the part and change it carefully.
Try cleaning the fan with some compressed air, it could just be something stuck in the fan like some dust or something. I had to do that to a computer the other day because the fan was making a horrendous noise. Fixed it right up. May as well try that before you have to send it away.
Do you have all your important data backed up? Then you should take use of the warranty.Hands down. Who knows whats the issue, maybe you get a new one.
Where did you buy it? Saturn, MediaMarkt or alike? Then a repair might be done in half a hour as they have their repair/service centers in the bigger stores, so i think you should try.
Never blow a fan with compressed air! This can do serious damage if done wrong, believe me. And if you really want to blow it (no homo), use 2 q-tips to hold the fan so that it doesnt move. And dont have energy going through the pc, i.e take out the akku.
..and remember, its not a trick its a Zoni Good Luck mate, i hope its nothing major.
well i took it to saturn today and they told me that they have to send it to sony for repair. they said that it will take about 2 weeks. if the damage isn´t under warranty i have to pay 85€ just them took look it up and + aditional repair costs.
but thanks they gave me a shitty asus 16" tank…
so let´s hope it´s no serious damage!
damn, 2 weeks is the max, right? I had my Xbox360 repaired/exchanged once, they said it would take 5 to 7 weeks, in the end it was like 1.5. But MS aint Sony.
Can you play out on the asus? I think traktor has limited installs, dont it? Is the Asus even compareable with your VAIO? Would suck if they gave you a vey old laptop.
Yea fair enough if you blow compressed air straight into the fan port without opening up the rear end of the laptop then its your own fault. Open up the back panel of your laptop and then fire some compressed air into it. No problem AT ALL, so no idea why other people think so… after all its only air…
When my HP broke down they had a shipping box to me by the next morning and had it repaired and back to me within 48 hours of me dropping the package to Fedex.
This may work, i only know about desktop-fans. If the fan gets moving because of the air you may produce voltage that can damage the unit. I dont know if laptop fans are that different.
i would never take apart my laptop as long as it has warranty.
the asus i got from saturn is pretty much okay (4gb ram, 500gb…) but i won´t take it to gigs cause i just rent it.
