I’ve got the VCI-100. Played with it, didn’t like the MIDI lay-out so much. I just bought the VCI-100SE layout and installed it last night.
I’ve loaded the .tsi file from DJTT onto my VCI-100 and yet the buttons DO NOT function as in the videos Ean has posted.
There are a few other things that are REALLY annoying me since I can’t seem to remedy the issues. Mainly FX section and filters as well as loading songs. Once a song is through playing, I cannot load another song in unless I hit “PAUSE” then I can load a new track in.
so yeah…I’d like to get into mixing but with the set up I have I just can’t…
The videos are for an earlier version of the TSI. The new TSI is much better but no vid yet.
Also what firmware do you have? You have to update to FW version 1.3 to get everything to work.
Loading only on to stopped deck is a very good idea. Keeps me from f***ing up my live sets. You should try something for a couple of weeks before deciding it’s no good as alot of thought went into the tsi and sometimes things that don’t seem so obvious become very useful in the long run…
well it is really the fx section that isn’t like the video. i’ve been messing with it lately and trying to fix somethings myself although im not much at midi mapping. the beat juggle on mine is also a little weird sometimes. when i turn it off, it doesn’t always go off…
and i have the firmware that came with the unit. i haven’t upgraded, i don’t really know why i would need to?
The renesas link you posted is the firmware update software, thats the software that you use to upload the firmware. You can find a download link and more information about the firmware update device in the Firmware Support section of the forums - there are several stickies that will guide you though every aspect of the firmware upgrade. I highly suggest going to read them for the information you seek.
