Buzz from laptop charger with a ground isolater

Buzz from laptop charger with a ground isolater

my setup is acer laptop with traktor scratch two turntables, numark mixer amp and speakers
the buzz is horrible only when i plug my charger in, even tho I brought an isolater for like 10 quid but still dosnt work even tho it worked for abit, my setup is in my shed there is only one socket. I posted a video of it soo hopefully some one can me any ideas they have ???

This has worked very well for me… EBTech HumX

I had a similar problem with my setup. Turns out that the ground prong on my laptop charger was causing an interference issue. I know that this may not be safe, but I solved the buzzing noise by using a “cheater plug” or a 3-prong to 2-prong power adapter. It has worked for me for several months with no problem.

Here’s a video of my problem and the solution …

so thye plug goes into this cheater plug ? why isnt it safe

Because if the power needs to drain down the earth and you’re touching anything metal on the unit you become the earth.

fck that then lol there must be a hundred other ways

Yes the EBTech HumX gets rid of the ground loop hum completely while still keeping your equipment safe and grounded. I have been using it for about two years, and it has been worth the $60 I spent on it.

I reiterate my suggestion! Amazon.com

Using any Macbook charger with the small plug attachment is exactly the same as using a “cheater plug”, so I doubt there’s much risk.

Using balanced cables solved allot of my buzz problems

so which cheater plug would i need in the uk ?

The one at the top of this page cured it for me (PowerStar Laptop):

I bought mine less than a year ago but it’s looking like it might not be available anymore.

You could ask here: customerservices@sunpower-uk.com

It cost me £24.96 including postage.

Buying a new DC power supply that is ungrounded should work, but it should be no different than ground-lifting your existing power supply.

Any DC supply that provides identical voltage and the same or more current (amps) will work as a power supply for your laptop.

how do I ground lift my current power supply ?

will this work you think my laptop is accer

also is it the power supply that causes the bus or the other half

You could try one of these leads for your existing power supply:

The 3rd ground pin is what causes the buzzing.

did you have a look at that ebay link was that the one you was onabout mate ?

If your laptop uses 19V, 20V, or 24V and less than 2 amps it should work.

How would I find this out ? thanks

It’s written on your power supply.

ok

output 19v

1.6 amp
input 100-240 v

so do you think I should deffo get that adapter on the ebay link

is there a good chance of it fixing the buzz/hum

thanks for the help
