Bye Bye Pioneer, Hello S4. And God, I’m Blown Away
Hi guys,
I got rid of my pioneer DDJ-S1.. I decided to make the rash decision to switch from itch to traktor. and I am BLOWN AWAY. Controlling traktor with my midi fighter alone was terrible. Now with an S4, I’m simply shocked. I LOVE it.. the feature set.. the software, those big rubbery knobs. Now I’m finally back. Welcome back Traktor..
Be sure pay attention to pages 26, 36, 45, 50, 51, 54, 55, 59, 84, and 101 in the manual. They all have info on things that are not labeled on the controller.
I went from cdj900s + traktor timecode to the Traktor S4, with the money I got from selling off the cdj900s I was able to buy a brand new MacBook pro and a brand new traktor s4 and I can do so much more with them! CDjs are really expensive!
I was really Thinking of the logic behind using CDjs with timecode, with vinyl dvs feels right but with CDjs it’s like buying pharmaceuticals from the middle man when you can go straight to the source if that makes any sense at all lol
The S4 just fits like a very worn pair of jeans for everything but scratching. I’m finding meself more in this position that I think “If only I could do some decent scratching in this particular part of the set …” but it’s kinda awkward with the jogs. Then again I cant seem to justify YET getting some DVS just to have proper means to do it. 2 1200’s and S4 innofader is something I cant get off me head .
There is a tutorial on how to put the Pro X Fade Scratch fader into a VCI.
However, the Innofader will go in my Xone:22 and I will possibly use it in my APC80 as well. Will need to make a plan with the APC80 and fitting it tho.
The Innofader Pro is compatible with the Xone:22 and there is a tutorial on how to add it as well.
They actually colabed with A&H on making an adapter which comes with the fader.
