Cakewalk soundcards with Traktor?

Cakewalk soundcards with Traktor?

I’m looking for a new sound card for use with Traktor Pro. Right now I’m using my Omni Control as the sound card. It’s pretty decent sounding, but is not portable at all.

I have been doing tons of research on sound cards lately, and am looking for a 24-bit 48/96/192 khz (doesn’t really matter) USB sound card. I only need 1 channel of RCA outs and 1 channel for headphone (preview).

Everything I have read about Native Instrument sound cards IE Audio DJ 2/4/8, the drivers are no good for Win Vista/7 x64. Basically I need a sound card that can work on any windows system.

I really like the Cakewalk UA-1G. But am not sure if the headphone out would act like a preview. Has anyone used this or other Cakewalk sound cards in Traktor?

Thanks

The omni control has a built in soundcard..? Do you mean the stealth?

i have win7/64 and the audio2dj works perfectly on it … best soundcard for $$$

audio 2 dj

thanks, well that is a little comforting. Did it require any tinkering or basically plug and play?

No, he means omni

NI’s drivers are rock solid on x64. I wouldn’t trust a source that tries to tell you otherwise.

+1
People who say things like that are usually people with shite systems that any driver would f*ck up on.

I dont think the Cakewalk card is multi-out so im not sure you could assign the headphone out separately, just a hunch though.

somewhat plug and play .. drivers are 64x friendly

btw that cakewalk card is similar to the gemini iconnex .. it has input and one output … its probably not going to work with traktor, you will need a card that has two outputs (AUDIO2DJ / Numark io / etc.)

lol wut? or are you using a different controller or something, and the omni is specifically a soundcard?

And yes, at the moment, my omni control is basically my sound card on my desktop.

I’m going to be using a netbook/laptop for on-the-go mixing at school and other places. I can’t be lugging my omni control everywhere I need a decent sound card.

I have a nanoKontrol and a MidiFighter that I will be using and they will be good enough for these situations.

Audio 2 works great on my Win 7 laptop; and i was running an Audio 8 before, and that worked great as well.

I have an audio8 and audio2 which work flawlessly on my Win7 x64. My firewire io/14 does not, however.
