MR5’s and they are quite nice… although I do miss my BX8a’s I may get a pair to compliment the mackies…
Got them in my studio/booth as well, really like the sound of them.
Fell in love with the HR-624s, but these were the affordable alternative.
I have always loved the hr624’s… the BX8A’s had a nice tight bass to them. those were also great
No experience with the BX8As. ALways dying to try these and DynAudio. ![]()
Dynaudio = Rolls Royce 0_0
BX8a = beautiful tight bass.
so I got some more furniture for the studio… well a chair. the studio is coming along
still need those desks, but Ikea is a million miles away lol.
desks and lighting are the missing pieces of the puzzle
some more pictures of the new studio as it is bieng setup. I still need another desk and monitor stands/shelves to finish my command center ![]()
oh and a little hammock in the living room ![]()
I was digging around and i found a picture of my studio from 2008 back when i was in college… haha in my dorm room
here is the studio i used to work at back in ottawa
I still have that studio to this day.
i like how you mount a hammock but not a display
the screen weighed 80lb and had no stand… i got it free… best i can do with what i have… no complaints here ![]()
the place is slowly coming along lol
That’s almost all you need…other than, where’s the computer? ![]()
Laptop. I still need the 3rd desk and rack table along with 8" monitors, but no rush
got another desk. the desk was 2 inches to short to fit over the air conditioner so i added extensions to the legs
… lol sometimes i feel smart.
gonna fit one of these at some point http://www.allen-heath.com/ahproducts/gs-r24/
I now need speaker stands to fit behind the desks…
that’s starting to look pretty darn cozy! props to the work so far, interested in seeing how that large monitor plays out. Wondering how fitting a touch overlay would work, I’ve thought of that a few times. For a really big monitor that might actually be pretty useful versus a usual laptop touchscreen. It’d be a little similar to Smithson Martin’s Emulator I’d imagine, just with a LCD not a projector
I cracked the corner a bit, but I get these bad boys for free from a friend
I will wait until he has touchscreen ones to offer hahahaha
Finished the studio desk build
… Some photos follow
Some detail work on how I mounted the legs to the table…
power tools were used
That looks like a great place to be, nice work ![]()
