Has anyone here (who’s into production etc) got a sample pack from Sounds to Sample called Progressive House Synths and Stabs Volume 1? It’s a sample library which includes midi notes for each sample so you can use your own instruments etc.
Just been flicking through it and the “anthem” loops are basically what made up an entire Calvin Harris song. It’s an absolute blatant rip off and he must have just copied and pasted the samples one after the other to make up the song. Even the instrument sounds etc sounds very near to the same (probably is with a bit of mastering on top).
Also, I’m Not Alone is just a blatant variation of Saturate by the Chemical Brothers.
Calvin Harris is cool come from scotland and hes making some cool tunes im not sure about the sample pack your talking about but he must have used it if your saying so.
even if he is hes doing it really well Calvin Harris is fucking awesome
Meh, so many producers do this. If it works then why does it matter where the sample came from?
I would agree that using straight samples and not changing, adjusting or generally bettering them is a massive production no no, but still, lots of producers do this (me included) and there are far worse culprits than Calvin Harris.
