These are my first edits. I would really appreciate honest advice on whether they catch your ear, the EQing is solid, and whether or not I should master differently. I really appreciate it.
You shouldn’t master anything. You’re better off not touching anything and only adjusting the volume of the acapella and add a limiter so it doesn’t clip. If you do end up doing changing, it shouldn’t be noticeable or ruin the acapella.
I only listened to 1 and 3 and here is my two cents. I do not mean any badness in saying this its all constructive criticism hopefully.
These acapellas you used over the top of the tracks should never and will never go together. They are completely out of key. Try listening to other mashups that sound good. and try to copy. Try to mash-up songs that already exist and like. This way you can try and copy what the other producer has done.
Keep it up though. I am no expert myself but the majority of people will know that these tracks should of never even been attempted to work together.
Try getting mixed in key for this and if you are already using it its evident not too rely on the programme too much.
I really appreciate all of your honest feedback. Very helpful. My thoughts:
I will definitely forget about EQing the acapellas and will raise DBs. Makes sense and I hear what you’re talking about.
I do have Mixed in Key and know that instrumentals and acapellas for #1 and 3 didn’t technically work together (kudos for having such a good ear @manus) but just really felt them at the time.
I will for sure practice via re-making edits by good producers.
