**Can someone suggest me an amp for these?**

[http://www.guitarcenter.com/JBL-JRX125-Dual-15--2-Way-Speaker-Cabinet-Pair-600348-i1152806.gc](http://www.guitarcenter.com/JBL-JRX125-Dual-15--2-Way-Speaker-Cabinet-Pair-600348-i1152806.gc)

I am about to purchase these speakers, but I need an amp. I know very little about amps, but my buddy sais I will need an amp that can do 2 channels 500 watts @ 4 ohms. there are about a million and a half different amps on amazon and similar sites of varying brands and prices (quality?).

Could someone who knows a bit more about this suggest me an amp that will push these as far as their potential (getting everything i paid for)?

Thanks!

This should do the trick 🙂
It’s cheap , light, doesn’t heat up that much, and it’s got loads of headroom for the speakers you’re gonna be driving with it 😃

Just so you know, all Behringer power ratings are Peak rather than the industry standard RMS. So that iNuke probably can barely manage 500 W p.c. at 4ohm.

Sure, but they still kick some ass for the price they retail at.
The 3000 still delivers something around 650rms per channel, which is not that bad at all 😃

Get the NU6000. Better to have extra power and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

EDIT: FORGET THIS\> You can even power two extra speakers at a 4 ohm load if necessary in the future.

The speakers you’re looking at ARE 4 OHMS. You don’t need the 6000. The 3000 @ 4 OHMS is powerful enough plus some.

Get the NU3000. or go for the NU6000 and stay out of the red.

READ up on the NU3000 DSP model. They are a little bit more $$ but they have a USB programmable built in DSP which could make those speakers sound better.

I would get one of those for a simple set-up like this.

Go for Crown or QSC amps. I’ve been doing live sound for almost 10 years, and have had better luck with those brands than any other.

880/sqrt2 = 622W, and that’s with the amp running at maximum…

I wouldn’t be surprised if it can barely struggle to 600W RMS.

You ideally want to match the amp’s maximum continous power rating to the program power of the speakers. So something like a QSC GX7 would be ideal for those JBL speakers.

Those speakers are 4 ohms.

It’s big, heavy, and $500.
Inukes are reliable and cheap.
I don’t hate on non-D amps, but you have to agree they have gotten a lot better in the past years.

The QSC GX7 is 7kg whereas the iNuke 6000 is 5.5kg. Hardly a significant difference.

Also the fans on the iNukes are supposedly very loud.

It puts out 1800 at 2ohms, so i’d figure around 7-800 at 4.

Yep, you’re right on this one, they’re pretty loud when the amp is at full power. But when the amp is at full power and connected to those dual 15’s, you won’t be able to hear the fans at all 😉

@ loverocket, that amp pushes 700 watts per channel at 4ohms, should be just enough. For $200 more The GX7 runs 1000 per channel and would be ideal.

The extra $$ you spend on a QSC makes a difference a few years down the road when that Beringher craps out. Buy quality or buy twice.

I know it’s 700W @ 4 OHMs. You said "match the continuous power which is 500W.
