CDJs and mixer with Traktor setup

Hi,
I’ve been mixing using a two channel controller and Traktor Pro 2 for nearly a year now and I’m starting to feel quite limited so want to upgrade to CDJs, however I have a few questions.
I am thinking of getting x2 Pioneer CDJ900 Nexus, a mixer and then a Traktor F1 or D2 and using it through Traktor to use stems. Is this possible? And also would I have to use a mixer that is compatible with Traktor or would any work as long as the CDJs are Traktor compatible?
These might be stupid questions but I can’t seem to find an answer anywhere
