Chroma caps

Chroma caps.

Righto!

Ive had some chroma caps on my s4 for a while now (about 4 months) and they’ve started to deteriorate quite a bit! there’s rubber all over my S4 now, and its a bit of pain when they literally start crumbling under your fingers.

I dont know if this has been flagged up before, or wether its expected. Im not saying i want anything back either. Just wanted to know if anyone else has had this with them.

It was £40 quids worth afterall!

Yikes I hope mine don’t do that :open_mouth:

I’ve noticed this on the corners of my fader caps, nothing wrong with my knob caps yet.

Great thing they look like absolute kak, which stops me from ever buying them and suffering the same.

Sorry to hear about your pain dude. May wanna consider a browse through here for an alternative.

Cheers Johbremat, good load of kit in there!

Now to stop my RGAS kicking in…

DubluW, could you post a photo so we can see what you mean?

I’d like to see this as well! Mine aren’t wearing terribly badly, I wonder if it may just be a bad rubber for just that one batch, or maybe it’s a certain color?

Holy shit. Pioneer is insane ! $22 for an EQ knob !!!?!?!?!?! God they suck.

Of all the knobs sold this is the first I’ve heard of them crumbling. Try contacting the store and see if they can do something for you.

Agreed. Show them your crumbling appendage and see if they can’t buff it back up or give you a new one to stick back on. If however, green stuff is regularly coming off in your hands you may need to seek a more serious course of action.

I’ve been using the yellow chroma caps on my S2 for about 4 months now , and have found no problems with it ! Loving the round tops to them as well , and they feel great !

Pics are inbound, my camera is being a bit arsey. :disappointed:

Finally! bloody camera.

You can see they aren’t completely destroyed, or anywhere near going to spontaneously combust or anything like that I havent used any weird or wonderful cleaning fluid’s on them and the decks are stored out of sunlight etc

I really like the feel of them and prefer them over the stock ones, its just a bit annoying having to pick eraser bits of my S4 after i use them!

And yes, that is the DJ for Dummies book in the background!

Yeh they’re not looking great are they. As jojo said, contact the store with those pics and see what they say.

Serves you right for spending £40 on them in the first place! :stuck_out_tongue:

Well obviously not £40 quid on three of them!

The rest of the EQ’s and Faders are mostly OK, But id hate to think this it what they all go like after a short while…

Hey DubluW,

That is certainly the first issue we have seen like that!
I’ve pm’d you - let me get your details and we will get a replacement pack out immediately!

Cant say fairer than that!

I don’t use them anymore, as I’ve moved from my s2 to my DB2 which has a different style of fader, I had the same thing.

It didn’t happen with the knobs, only the faders, began to crumble around the edges. I thought I might bring it to attention incase it is infact a manufacturing fault :S
