configuring a Twister via MIDI?

I’m considering getting a Twister to use with Mixxx and I am wondering how the configuration tool works. Is it just a GUI for sending MIDI signals (I’d guess sysex messages) to tell the Twister to change how it behaves? If so, is there any documentation for what signals to send it, or will I have to reverse engineer the configuration tool and watch what outgoing signals it sends? Or does it communicate with the Twister in a different way? I want to have the Mixxx mapping query the Twister for its configuration on startup, save the configuration the user had before, send it a configuration specifically for the mapping, then send back the configuration that the Twister had before when Mixxx shuts down. Relying on the Windows and Mac only configuration tool isn’t really an option for GNU/Linux users.

This should help you:

There is a GUI for mac/windows

I don’t see any helpful search results. All I see are this and this, neither of which look like they change the Twister’s configuration like the MIDI Fighter Utility.

Oh sorry i misunderstood, maybe take a look at the DJTT github pages from the MF classic to see if it’s discribed there but otherwise I would have no idea.

That would be irrelevant. I am wondering how to change things like fill vs EQ mode for the LED rings and how to toggle the detent.
