I know, this is a overused question…
I have used my computer to djing for a while and now i want to buy a controller… my budget i quite limited…
What i want to do is manual beatmatching(not sync…) some controllerism, and the basic stuff…
I use mixxx( https://www.mixxx.org/ ) as software and I loved it…
I have seen some controllers…
-mixtrack pro 3 ( Numark Mixtrack Pro 3 · mixxxdj/mixxx Wiki · GitHub ) whit mixxx mappings it became a 4 deck controller. And i ilje long pitch controllers…
-ddj-sb2, but i didn’t like it so much…
-reloop beatmix 4 mk2 ( 4 channel, whit mixxx mapping it beacame quite complete… Home · mixxxdj/mixxx Wiki · GitHub ) and I liked it but it’s a little over my budget…
And whit this i was going to buy the mixtrack pro 3… but next i saw the ddj rb… there aren’t mixxx mappings yet and it is only 2 decks (yes, i know the pro 3 and the sb2 aren’t very 4 deck controller…)… I liked the fact that it come whit softare, rekordbox, (change software for a conplete version of another software is not a problem…) so I can do some things that i can’t do whit mixxx… now I’m confused… some advice on what buy (pro 3 or rb)?
Ps: I’m not English so sorry for my bad English…
Whit the rb, if I can create the mappings for mixxx ( anyone know if there is one?), I can add a small arduino powered basic controller to activate deck 3/4(programming for anrduino e for mixxx mappings isn’t a problem…)?
RB and SB are the same device physically - if you don’t like one, you will not like the other.
Most controllers have small pitch faders now, I’d try and learn to live with it.
Theres other 4 channel controllers e.g. Terminal Mix 4, NI S4, Denon MC 6000 and if you like big Pitch faders, the DDJ-T1. They can be had cheap on the second hand market and ebay.
Personally I’d ditch Mixxx and go with whatever the controller you buy was designed for. Mixxx is nice for free,
but other commercial software is generally more stable and has better features e.g. key lock algorithms, effects etc… It’s almost caught up with the features of Traktor 3 (which was released in 2006!)
