Controllerism with Hotties!

Controllerism with Hotties!

Just saw this from Engadget. Some dude has himself, and a few hot looking women, rigged up to produce some music. I can only think of the possibilities. Orgy? haha.

What a giant waste of time. lol.

Was anyone else slightly skeptical that it was all just staged? I mean, it would be pretty hard for all those people to stay in time with eachother.

I’m just sayin…

Yea i got the suspicion that it is staged as well though im skeptical. Though id imagine it would be interesting to show up to a gig with 15 hot girls instead of a vci-100 lol

I reckon they went at it with the intention of doing it properly, but couldn’t get a smooth take, so ended up just playing it back in ableton and foot/hand syncing to it with a live vocal…

Although the optimist in me says, hells yeah! they did it do it! Right on!

Who cares? the idea behind this is amazing!

Granted, it would not be as cool as using attractive women, but you could paint this stuff on a peice of papper and on your fingers and have an instant bank of pads and buttons!

the video and article in CDM seem to suggest otherwise against staged.

Abletons Quantisation was used to keep the performers on time - so i doubt it was fake.

Thats pretty fucking awesome. Shows you the power of ableton and midi for doing stuff no one dreamed of

One of my mates is an electronic engineer & an ableton DJ and has created a device that lets you trigger clips in ableton by interacting with a water feature. I mean not useful in a club but pretty fucking cool IMO.

OK…can I get a hooray for the drums section!!!

ooooooooooooooooooh the possibilities for making lovely music!!!

foolish mortal…1st you get the money…THEN you get the power…then you get the women…

it’s a practical dj setup really… but i would have spread the conductive paint on the breasts for a more inspired mix.

It would be super easy to get distracted doing that !

^^^ haha I don’t know how mistake-free my mixes would be in those circumstances.

Calvin Harris is the man… “It was acceptable in the 80’s”

[/quote]Not if you’re mixing drum n bass…

I could think of a better spot for placement of those sensors.

edit:
looks like B33SON got the inspiration first!

Sorry but that was surely fake ?

And the drums could have better placed

Clavin Harris came across as an alight guy though.

lol

yeah its Calvin Harris, a fellow Scot (not that i know him or anything) who after releasing a track “acceptable in the 80’s” maybe a year and a half or 2 years ago has been a fairly regular feature of the UK pop chart.

The whole thing is just a clever bit of marketing for his new single but that doesn’t take away from the fact that its almost certianly real and a very clever implementation of midi and using conductive paint to complete the switches.

And obviously the babes help a bit too
