Controllers: How to attain accurate 0.02% pitch resolution?

Well, on the VCI I have the inner and the outer wheels. On any other jog you can set a shift button so it goes from pitch bend to pitch fading.

An extra mod/rotary is probably needed too, in order to alternate between two tempo ranges. If the tracks are more than fragments of a bpm apart, having one fine rotary gets tedious really quick.

does traktor have fine ptich?

It used to in Traktor 3 in an obvious fashin.
As far as I can tell in Traktor Pro, the resolution (min/fine/normal etc…) is proportional to the deck tempo range which kinda blows if you need more than 8% range.
There’s a command to switch tempo range independently for each deck but the 0 is centered around the track’s default pitch and not centered around where you had it set to;
So, reducing the range for finetuning will often mean the track tempo will jump quite a bit from where you had it…
All in all, if you only use +/- buttons, the options are a bit of a pain.

On the other hand if you just use an encoder, you can dial down the sensitivity a lot and even at high pitch ranges you can get it to be very precise. Just add a modifier to toggle between duplicates of that mapping, each with a different sentivity.
