I have seen Ean and many others do it. They put controllers directly on the turntables deck. The MFP has a hole underneath so its sits nicely or you can use a foam cushion etc.
My worry is that this will damage the balance of the deck.
Am I being paranoid?
I usually freak out if anyone places anything other than a record on my turntables deck…
i usually put my vci100 on the decks if there is not enough space in the booth. but i always make sure to carry a big piece of foam with me so the tt / vci doesn´t get any damages.
Yes you are correct. I’ve seen platters damaged by this sort of activity which is why I cringe whenever I see it being promoted here on DJTT… just seems like a total disrespect to those of use that depend on TT’s for our performances… Not only are the platters vulnerable but so are the tone arms… DJTT’s please stop promoting this activity!!
hm…like i said. i use a big piece of foam and also i remove the neddle.
things is that i don´t really rape my vci so there isn´t that much pressure on the tt. also i only do this when there is no other space in the booth…
