Convert Custom Ear Plugs to In Ear Monitors

Convert Custom Ear Plugs to In Ear Monitors

Im going to an audiologist this week to get my custom ear plugs done, finally  but now if I wanted to get a pair of in ear monitors with my custom mold how would that work? would I ask for another copy of the impressions and then send them to a company? any help is appreciated

1964 Ears takes good in ear monitors and will put them in custom molds. You just need to contact them to make sure they can do it with your IEMs… I have the Westone’s and they do those… Price is reasonable, around $200, plus your own IEMs. Or you can buy new IEMs directly from them that they custom mold.

Thanks for the quick response Lance. But right now I don’t have any IEMs, I’m just getting the molds done for ear protection. So do you think I would be able to send my molds to Westone for example and they could use them to produce IEMs for me?

Yes you can send into Westone for customs, but they are gonna be pretty pricey i would think. 1964 also has their own line of IEMs that you don’t need to send in your own, but I don’t really know the quality.

Here is a link to thewestone’s Westone

There’s an Instructables that shows you how to make your own moulded IEM’s. It’s very cool.

Lance - Did you get yours molded? Was there a dramatic difference from using the universal plugs?
