my brother sent this to me the other day, thought you guys might like to read it…
apparently the new macbook gets so hot, you could boil water on it… wonder if i could do eggs and bacon on it too?

Apple had a similar problem with the G4 titanium. Had one and it would get so hot it could burn you (many reported incidents). The reason they went to aluminum was partially for better thermal dissipation. Now what are they going to do?

I’m buying a macbook pro tomorrow, but I’m going refurb.
Yeah there was a major recall of 2007 Macbook Pro batterys.
That one in the pic isnt mine but mine did get sent back as it was swollen. They sent a courier round to pick it up as it was regarded as a fire risk.
There were some pretty horrific pictures around at the time. Some actually caught fire.
It seems Apple are obsessed with making everything smaller and thinner.

my mbp (pre-unibody) used to get uncomfortably hot..until i got the logic board replaced..now the fans won’t stop running because (i think, from my research) the person who did it didn’t put the sensors back on right. cool as a summer breeze now! 
I sure hope that wasnt actually shipped to someone.

yeah, apple has always put aesthetics before function… or in this case, cooling.
