Hello my name is Aleksey Rayevskiy, I live in Jonesboro, AR.
My DJ allias Is “Broseph$talin” and me and a few friends have been working hard on building a Dance music scene here in our town for the past 2 years and its really starting to pop off.
Myself and a few others have provided free events for the people of Jonesboro Arkansas, we have put our all into these types of events, Im about to have monthy events at our local bar for dance music and it is a huge step.
P.S. Here are some Events we have done and are doing
hey aleksey. sorry to hear that your controller broke down.
question: why not make 1-2 parties in your town to raise some money for a new one? something like free entry but one of your crew is collecting some money in the hat during the party.
Its defiantly a bummer but ill find a way some how to get a new controller.
( I have a festival to play September 11-12 YIKES!)
Every party except the monthly one is free entry, its also hard to throw shows in Arkansas because of limited places to host them but its almost party season, so hopefully I can work a few things out
Answer : This is still a very fresh scene and its hard to get people to help out in terms of money.
I work a 40 hour a week job, Industrial painting. I spent $5000+ on pure sound equipment and also found a place For my Town to have a place to dance and release themselves. I do NEED an S4 because all I use is Traktor and I’m not gonna waste my money or donation money on something else.
Those kids look like they are having fun, charge them $10 from now on. You shouldn’t be doing it for free because as you understand, it’s costing you money.
Let’s be clear, you wouldn’t have helped out even if the kid was playing all of your favorite tunes and you decided to insult him simply because you wanted to. The thing is that the kids in the videos look like they are having fun and that’s all from this kid, where you decide to be rude. You’re so cool man.
Its really commendable that you got this started by yourself pal, but as people have said you’ll need to start charging on the door to keep things ticking over. Hell, if theres house parties involved or your own events borrow a space and supply the booze! You’ll make it back in no time.
There are cheaper alternatives to an S4 out there as you can map traktor or download mappings to pretty much anything.
If you are putting on special freebies for the people of Jonesboro Arkansas, then you would think they could/should club together to buy a replacement controller. If it’s for the people and by the people…
I remember a member a while back who I think had much of his stuff stolen and he had a whole bunch of bad stuff happen, IIRC, and there was obvious compassion for his situation and therefore people donated.
It’s interesting that you come to a forum asking for donations before considering charging, even a small amount. That is if all said is genuinely true, which in this day of internet scams invariably is not.
I was just looking for some help. sorry for disturbing the internet.
To the people being assholes. I would rather hug you + 1000 others rather then get $1000 from you.
That being said. I do want to charge money. Because Im providing an experience that keeps everyone motivated to actually do something different and try different things. Its stressful. Its expensive. But fuck it. it is all worth it. In Jonesboro Ar… There is nothing but Banks, churches, hicks, and country. being able to provide such a different culture and provide events to show off this culture of music that isn’t seen around here, with very crisp heavy sound the way the music is meant to be felt/expressed/heard to the people that can’t afford going on trips often and to the people who just feel alone and want to meet people more like them.
This is why I do it.
This is what this culture is about.
but sadly the general population ( as shown on this form ) doesn’t want to spend $5 and help someone out.
Good luck. I like to give to good causes. If I want to give to a stranger I think it is usually someone who is in genuine need. So I will donate $5 to medicine frontier on your behalf.
