only when using 4 decks. i dont like to use sync, i like to be able to nudge the track manually with the turntable. i use the x1 for effects, hot cues, and loops.

It’s a red slipmat
yup its just an old school slip mat.. i got them with the sl-1200’s that i rescued them from an old bar basement.. took them home cleaned them up, changed the wires, cleaned the contacts for the pitch, & then re-calibrated the tonearms. everything works flawless now.
i use it mostly for hot cues for live remixes with my technics.. i changed the mapping so i have 8 hot cues on the bottom.. works great for bringing in a track with a vocal or reworking a hip-hop track.
