Im beginning to get more anal about this. I recently went through and tagged/renamed ALL my gridded tracks (and non-DJ tracks). For the tracks I want to DJ with, Im attempting to have 100% with cover art.
How much of an issue is this for you all? In my naive fantasy I figure…“once Im all caught up…it will be easy to just manage and upkeep from that point”
I have cover art and beat grids for most of my songs.
Once you get into the habit of doing it, it does become pretty easy to maintain.
Mind you, my collection is small compared to most others, about 300 songs.
I also tend to remove songs from my collection that I rarely play as well.
Album art looks sweet on my iPod, im more worried about beatgrids and cue points on my tracks, sure its nice to have eye candy, but Ill rather spend my time doing other things
Exactly! This is one thing I dont like about going digital…the subtleties (and not just the purely nostalgic ones like staring at that beautiful platter in the red glow). I never really realized how important a part of the ritual crate flipping was for me until I went completely digital.
p.s. pardon the misspelling in the poll, I dont care about your gardening collection
I use the covert art in TPro to give my tracks a color code. I use blue, green, yellow and red to indicate the enrgi level of the track. Makes it easier to keep the same momentum and level of energi through a set, when mixing live.
