Dark Bassment (orginal track)

Here’s a link to a track I’ve been working on, would really appreciate your thoughts (would embed but think DJTT block private links):

I just got a pair of monitors and not sure if I’m placing them right.. there’s something I can’t put my finger on with the lower end. Should I filter out some of the sub bass? When I push the level really high it sounds a bit weird, but I also know my room is also awful acoustically. Problem is the speakers are quite near a wall and nowhere else I can really put them so don’t know whether to trust the sound or not…

Link doesn’t work. Are you sure your sharing the proper link, and not just the URL to the private track?

Sorry I’m an idiot…

Updated first post.

Link still not working…

I just reset it.. no idea what’s going on… maybe it’ll work now?

Works now

I think the bass sounds ok. I’m listening on regular 2.1 speakers at work though, but it seemed to cut through enough on these. Nice work on the song overall.

Sounds fine on my headphones as well. Like the track!

Cheers guys!

Some of those vocals sound nice you must have dug pretty deep to find those huh

:stuck_out_tongue:!

Yeah I told you that your pack contained the perfect sample! I feel bad but at the same time I loved it the second I played it.

Why would you feel bad that’s what the pack is for.. You and I know where it came from but nobody else does haha

dope!

One bump in case anybody else wants to listen, and that’s it

It’s a nice tune man. Well done.

The initial vocals are a bit dry for me, and I’m not a fan of the compression of the bassline. I think you could tighten up the attack and release to be a bit more in line w/ the rhythm, but not a big thing.

Really nice, clean sounds though. Great house tune.

Loving that vocal and melody part is catchy  Overall sounds good and clean to me.
Though maybe I would put little more variation on those hihats and a more defined climax.
