Dark Matter (original) sneak preview
Still extremely early in production (only a few hours into it), but I like the direction it’s going. Let me know what you think.

I like the synth, the beat must be a LOT harder in my opinion, with some more snares to make it less ‘boring’.

I agree with homeboy on this one. The mix down is way out of whack, could really use a better approach on all fronts. What’s your monitor setup at the moment?
Wasted Youth - What does it matter if I post 1, 3 or 9..? I like to show the journey, not just the destination. Next time I’ll just wait till I’m completely done I guess, and ask for feedback after the fact. lol. I’ll work on the drums some more as suggested..
Jason - I haven’t done any mix down, or mastering, so that would explain why it is what it is at the moment. I have garbage monitors btw.
Also, it sounds like sh!t on soundcrap. Listen in itunes, sounds noticeably better..
Well, I’m going to tell you what I tell everyone else. Shouldn’t really post anything until it’s finished (or at least past the first arrangement and mixdown phase). It’s hard to give input on half finished work and it really does waste everyone’s time. You wouldn’t send this to a record label, would you?
I guess we have different philosophies on the multiple purposes of this forum. Is it really that hard to give input on uncompleted work? Of course I wouldn’t send it to a record label, but I would share it on a forum who’s purpose is talking about making music.
I thought it was pretty simple concept here, maybe I’m missing something. People post ideas of a common theme among their peers. Other people share what they think of the ideas should they feel so compelled to do so, preferably something constructive and on topic.
No one is forcing anyone to put any input here, so if one is and feels their time is being wasted that’s their problem.
Well, the problem is we tell you what we think, but then you come back and say “Well, I haven’t done that yet” so it really doesn’t accomplish anything.
So maybe comment on what I have done thus far, or ideas on what I could do, outside the obvious that it’s a work in progress, and still needs the some levels adjusted. That’s what accomplishes nothing.
Me: Hey, I have a song I’m messing with. What do you guys think of it so far?
You. It’s not done yet.
Me: Alrighty then.
If my stuff is completed to the point that its been professionally mixed down and mastered, the post will be sharing a link to it on beatport or iTunes, not asking for feedback. 
Well, how are we supposed to know how far you are? You never said “still in the writing phase, haven’t done a mixdown yet” or anything like that. You wanted feedback, we told you where we thought you needed work based on what we heard.
I like the slow roll into the last bit.
