DDM4000 and Video SL hack

My friend is looking for a midi mixer to use with Video-SL, I told him that the ddm4000 is a midi mixer, but the xfader can’t do both audio and midi at once.

apparently this guy figured out how to get it working? I don’t speak spanish but that’s what they said on the serato forums. how would this be possible? I figured if anyone would know they’d be here

never the mind, I ended up finding a video showing how it’s done and soldered it up yesterday, works great

This is not spanish, is portugues.

I don’t know if Serato has internal mixing (with midi) but it is really easy with ANY dvs like Traktor or Torq.

Well…post the vid and what you soldered.

Come on!!!

that’s the video, it was a bitch to desolder for some reason, but after that it’s just wiring 3 points on the mb to 3 points on the x-fader board.

If you want a translation from the topic you read in portuguese I can translate it for you
I’m a portuguese (Brazil) native speaker

Where were you when I first posted this? haha, someone else figured it out and released the video above, which is what I used to do the mod. I’ll keep you in mind if I ever need to holler at a Brazilian chick though

np mate. I can find some chicks for you if you come to São Paulo

So now you’ve got a 4-channel mixer with only 3 channels that work, but a cross-fader that transmits midi alongside fading the audio?

I dont actually own the ddm4000, but that’s correct, you gotta cannibalize one channel to get a midi/audio transmitting xfader. DDM4000 with this mod is pretty much the cheapest way to get into the video sl scene as far as my research goes
