Deadmau5 (pronounced deadmouse) collapsed during a live show in Washington, DC last Friday. The music stopped playing, but because it was not apparent what had happened to the crowd, they were screaming for more. I know there are a lot of people on here that think he is not a DJ or that do not like him because of his rants about DJs, but it is still a sad situation. He is OK now, but he had to cancel half a dozen shows or so. This video was shot by one of the party-goers.
after the statements in that one interview I can’t help but say: serves him right. he may be successful, but going overboard like this is really not what I expect from a professional. he insulted the DJ community as a whole, people who essentially built the foundation for everything he does, which in my opinion is nothing extraordinary. with so many people out there who have skills lightyears beyond his, seeing him fall felt like karma at work.
Um, he’s a notorious chain-smoker, working/touring non-stop, kinda looks ill all the time as it is. I’m not surprised.
But that being said, I don’t really give much mind to his opinions on dj’s or whatever, everyone’s entitled. He’s a human being and I really hope he’s ok and wish him well.
I read a couple of his twitter comments one day, he goes like 20 hours without sleep every day, on top of the chain smoking and no-stop shows…dude needs to chill, more to dj’ing than touring and making money…oh wait, isnt that why people dislike him?
I am glad to hear he is alright, but there is no wonder why this has happened. He has been on the road tons, gets maybe days if that in his own home, then back on the road. It is exhausting doing what he does.
Jet Lag?
Have you actually read his tour dates, some bounce him across the globe.
Myself I am tired after a couple hour drive to a place I am to play little own fly across the country, continent or globe.
