Deadmau5 - Some Chords (DF remix) Aotoori Edit

Here is an edit I have finished recently for the Beatport Remix contest. I used a sample which voids me from the competition but I love the way it turned out. have a listen and feel free to leave some feedback (positive or negative) I’m grown so I’m sure I can handle it:stuck_out_tongue:.

Pretty good Aotoori. TBH, the vocal sample seems a bit out of place to me though, kinda forced. Everything after that is pretty tight though, I dig the bass line that comes in there! Did you sequence that?

Thanks. I found a video that someone did so I could see what notes were used. I played around until I found the sequence I liked. As for the vocal… I wanted to hype the drop a bit more.

Nice work. Too bad you excluded yourself from the contest. I’m actually working on my own remix to submit. I struggled to fit in any original parts without it sounding out of place. Tried recording guitar parts, sequencing synth leads and pads, only to scrap them all. I was already tempted to stick to strictly sample chopping anyway, so it’s whatever. I’m getting ready to start mixing it down so, maybe I’ll post it up when I’m finished.

So here it is, my first remix. Not perfect but I like it enough.

I like the drum arrangement you did. I fux with it. The question I always ask myself at the end of the remix is “Am I happy with it??” and then I try to challenge myself on the next one. Great work!!

Thanks, especially for mentioning the drums, cuz I’m a drummer so that just feels good ya know. I definitely wanna challenge myself more on the next one!
