Having spent weeks searching for and further developing a midi map that works for me, I’m using a VCI 100, Kontrol 1 and Traktor Pro 1.1.2. A really annoying/dangerous problem happens everynow and again. The left hand deck freezes, the phase meters go wild, the play button show it is on, but the track isn’t moving. I only seem to get this with the midi map that I like to use. To restart it, I have to shut down and reload, not good when playing live! Any suggestions gratefully recieved!
If the above is the case, you can try lowering the sensitivity on the back of the unit. It’s labeled “touch sensor level” and can be adjusted separately for each jog wheel.
Edit: Is the Kontrol 1 the Dj-Tech one? Did you map some sort of scratching maybe there and hit it by accident?
Some tsi files have a bug where if the jog gets nudged while the deck is paused, the track appears to not respond to the jog when playback is resumed. If that’s the case, see if the tsi has “jog scratch + tempo bend” commands on the jogs. If so, you might try deleting them, just make sure you still have “tempo bend” applied to the outside of the jogs. I’ve seen that command do weird things before.
Does playback resume if you actually touch the top of the jogs and spin them a little?
Zac You are a genius! Touching the top of the jog and spinning it does indeed get the thing working again. I will look at the jog scratch + tempo bend and deleting it in a while. As I have a gig tonight your advice has come in very handy!!!
Any advice on how to get the sync lights to come on ie green when set to Toggle, or should they be set to hold?
Hmm. They should come on for either/both toggle or hold, as long as there’s a command in the tsi, “output” mapped to the same note number as the button. (Except in a few cases where the vci-100 receives a different note number for the led than what’s sent by the button - the preview button is a good example). Good luck!
I’ve just come across this issue myself.. however…
I can get one or both decks to freeze, AND the jog lights have not changed from blue to red (ie the unit doesnt think they are being pressed), and despite this, pressing the play button does nothing (it lights up, both on screen and on the VCI, but the track doesn’t play.) Everything else appears to work, I can fiddle with the eq’s, turn effects on and off, just not play!
Update:-
If the jogseek light is lit (also called ‘vinyl mode’ on later models) and you tap the top of the jogwheel, then you can get play to resume! The light has to be on for this to work.
You could try the advice that Zac posted earlier, not sure if it applies to your problem, but it worked on for me. Good luck.

Yeah, thats what I did in the end, and it seems to have cured it.
Interestingly, removing those commands doesn’t seem to have removed any functionality from the jogs, so I’m wondering what they actually did!
Glad this fixed it. If you get chance can you post your file with the amend. That is if it is the file that you worked on and amended from DJ Max. You made alot of really good changes so it would be great for it to be available for the community with this bug fixed.
Thanx. CB.
I have just got my firmware update kit so soon I should also up to speed with this.
Look forward to the post. Have you tried the 'official’djtt tsi? There is another really good amended version, in my opinion better than the official one. This is posted by MISA happy to send the link if you are interested. It uses the overlay but incorportes features such as preview and other stuff that Ean for some reason didn’t include. I intend to switch between this and your one hence having your update will be really useful.
