Deckadance & VCI 100 - Quick Question…

please forgive me, but i am the greenest of noobs.

i haven’t been successful activating my VCI-100 with Deckadance. although i have an option to choose it as a controller, it never actually controls anything.

with Virtual DJ, i just select the controller, choose activate, and that’s that. with this one, i’m mad confused. the help options and online resources don’t really cover that issue. probably cuz it’s so basic they assume a caveman can do it.

am i missing something here? please assist. thanks guys!!

did you activate it in both the settings and the setup? the settings is a little button on the top left side and the setup is a tab in the little section above the crossfader

i sure did. when you choose setup in the tab above the crossfader, you get the option to choose your remote controller. there’s an option for the VCI-100, but nothing responds when i use the buttons on my deck.

i’m confused. cuz, it’s recognized by Deckadance in the Settings menu for midi in and midi out controller.

as i stated before, it shouldn’t be a connection issue cuz Virtual DJ had no problem with it.

maybe it doesn’t have a preset assignment??
does it deckadance have a learn function?
like learn: click on volume fader: move volume fader on vci.
perhaps u have to set up the functions from scratch. maybe it starts u with a blank slate?

it should have a preset for the vci-100. i never had any troubles with mine once it was selected in both settings areas. try posting on the imageline dd forums and they can normal help trouble shoot.

Thanks guys! I appreciate your help!!

Problem Solved!

ok…i’m a noob, i mentioned that right?

apparently you have to CHECK the Vestax VCI-100 in the list. the program doesn’t do it for you when you turn the deck on.

It’s always the usual suspects causing trouble

Glad to hear you got it sorted. Looking forward to hearing what you have to say about Deckadance!
