It looks like he wants the Denon not S2. Why do you all have to jump on S2 or S4. Maybe he does not like S2. And yes, it was 400$ almost three months ago. So what?
So what is, he asked if he should get it or not. In that case I just wrote my opinion about it. If he is going to use traktor, s2 is far better option than the denon controller.
What makes the S2 better? And I won’t be using it for scratching.

If you read my post, earlier I said if he is going to use traktor, s2 will be a better option.
But what about the integration is better than the 3000? Other than jogwheel performance the 3000 can do everything the S2 can, plus more. It has a high quality soundcard, can control 4 decks, loops, 8 hotcues, can trigger samples, has knobs for all the effects, has dedicated filter knob, can plug in two line inputs, and has a mic input. So other than the scratching which Ive heard can’t be matched by non NI hardward with Traktor, how is the S2 better? Oh yeah, and it’s an all metal chasis, so its much better build quality.
