Depeche Mode New Album “Sounds of The Universe”

ok, for all you DM freaks on DJTT site…I just heard some tracks and I am amazed for whats in store for the coming months! One track already leaked online, hit the blogs to listen to it.

Depeche Mode have announced the track listing for their eagerly anticipated 12th studio album “Sounds Of The Universe”, released April 20th, on Mute. The release is preceded by their stunning new single “Wrong”, out April 6th - the first single to be taken from the album.

“Sounds Of The Universe” marks a reunion between Depeche Mode and Ben Hillier, who previously produced their 2005 album “Playing The Angel”. Eclectic and energised, the band’s new LP was recorded in Santa Barbara and New York.

Yeah Im a DM freak, what can I say…I was born the day Just Cant Get Enough released.

But Evan, sorry I can provide a link being that its a big no no to provide links for stuff like that, do a quick goggle search. I know that this is spreading like a wild fire on the blog.

Yeah, I had the pleasure of going to a promo event. We got to see like a 2 minute teaser video for it. I’m absolutely stoked.

  1. Martin Gore has been on his game lately, and you can hear it.
  2. Analog. Analog. ANALOG! Goodbye to the bull entirely “Massive” produced album that was Playing the Angel, and HELLO Violator!
  3. Intricate sound design (did anyone see the video of how they were getting their drum kick sound? WOW!)
  4. It’s freakin’ Depeche Mode.

Now reasons why I’m NOT excited for the album? Ben Hillier. He is NOT who should be working with DM and we all know it. Bring back Flood!!!

This album will be from what I heard from my inside sources 80% analog and 20% Digital.

Bring back Flood would kick ass, but we have better chances of getting Alan Wilder doing the 5.1 mix of the album.

I did love how they were working on the bass kick with all that junk on top of it

Kaon, just goto iTunes and do a search for depeche mode. 1981 - 2009 and still pumping go tracks out. I also have some tape recordings when they were composition of sound, the quality is right under cd quality

Yup, that’s the word on the street. And thank JESUS! It’s better than producing an entire album inside Massive like they did with PwtA!

Alan is a great mixer. But yes…Flood is bar NONE the best producer scene wide. I want flood to produce my babies. :stuck_out_tongue:

i have neither itunes on this computer nor the net on a computer with itunes :roll_eyes:
just gimme a general idea of the genre, and if its one of those “undefinables” which sounds plausible, giz a colour or somethin to describe it :smiley: and youtube videos i cant use them either. for which i blame society, and my retarded internet based workplace.

Depeche Mode is like…a woman dressed in black, celebrating that fact, because she’s 18 and found new life in jesus christ, who is her personal jesus, so pick up the receiver she’ll make you a believer when she strips down to her knees and we play master and servant. Because people are people, what does it mean when we can enjoy the silence? Nothing, it’s just the policy of truth. I just hope they never let me down again, with this strange kind of love, but it’s not a question of lust, it’s a question of time, because everything counts in large amounts.

Oh sorry, they were the major innovators in electropop, synthpop, synthrock, and alt-dance. The revolutionized an industry and gave a musical voice to a generation of musicians. Depeche Mode is hard to classify other than “Depeche Mode” Because they basically defined an entire genre.

edit: Also probably the single most influential artist from the 80s.
