DIY MIDI controller with Rekordbox DJ and DDJ-RZ

My first post on this forum 
So i was looking the video’s of DJ TT and saw the awesome midi controllers that you could make your own. It looks fantastic to me to make a midi controller that i could connect to my DDJ-RZ and use that as my third or fourth deck so that i do not have to switch between the decks on my mixer with the knobs 1/3 and 2/4. I would like to use that controller for some controllerism. My idea was to use 8 or 16 buttons, with 3 or 4 encoders above it. Furthermore i would like to have a knob for the sync button for some loops and stuff. Maybe a play/pause button for these loops.
I am not sure if i can use this DIY MIDI controller with Rekordbox DJ while using the DDJ-RZ. I am also not sure if i can use 16 buttons as hot cue, because in rekordbox DJ you only have 8 hot cues per deck.
I hope that somebody can give me some information about my issues
