off topic, but a suggestion for the future.
it seems like u uploaded ur first 2 mixes in wav, which makes the download size immense.
while the quality would be great in wav, u may want to consider uploading them in mp3 so that the download size is more consumer friendly.

No. You always leave the booth and let the other DJ get into his thing.
Let him get into it. Then maybe pop back a little while later, maybe ask him if he wants a drink. Judge his reaction, he may be “yeah man cool” then you know hes up for some banter.
As a DJ yourself you should be able to read his expressions and see how busy or in the moment he is to know if hes up for a chat etc.
I think its always obvious without having to ask if a DJ is cool with you hanging around but i say always assume he doesnt at first. Then judge it after hes into his set.
Firstly. cheers to you for at least being aware of the role of an opener and asking for advice. I see alot of djs whose entire crates consist of tracks that are only effective with a peak time slot. They wonder why people are not drinking the kool-aid along with them at 5am when they are scheduled to play.
This is a bit of a tricky situation, since the club owner who just gave you a good opportunity may be completely oblivious to the idea of a warmup set’s context for a night of music, and was probably impressed that you got people going so early by dong slapping them with bangers.
I’d suggest showing him another side of yourself. It might not be what he expects, but at least he’ll see that there’s more than just one dimension to what you’re capable of. Whether you come out with bangers at 10pm or ease up on people, you always run the risk of scaring the audience off the dancefloor. Best bet would to feel out what the crowd has already responded to that night (assuming you’re not the absolute first dj to play) and to ALWAYS have a definite plan b escape route in case plan a falls flat.
