DJ Terrorist LaunchPad Traktor 1.2.1 - vertical 4 decks

Ok here is my mapping :

My goal :

Using 4 decks, all synced to master BPM, all my tracks being BeatGrided.
I use it mainly for techno sets, kind of Chris Liebing/Speedy-J-like sets …

Mapping :
Collumns 1+2 for deck 1, 3+4 for deck 2, 5+6 for deck 3 and 7+8 for deck 4.

Top round buttons for extra, Right round button for browsing in tracks + extra

left-bottom round button = global SHIFT function.

DECK1 → DECK4 collumns, all using the same mapping :

First collumn, top to bottom :

button1 : Load current selected track to deck, SYNC deck and select deck
button2 : filter increment, using SHIFT : filter on/off
button3 : filter decrement, using SHIFT : filter reset to zero
button4 : FX1 on/off
button5 : FX3 on/off
button6 : move play pointer backward, using SHIFT : go to begging of the track
button7 : loop size decrement
button8 : Play/Stop deck (using blinking led)

Second collumn, top to bottom :

button1 : unused
button2 : Hi cut on/off
button3 : Low cut on/off
button4 : FX2 on/off
button5 : FX4 on/off
button6 : move play pointer forward
button7 : loop size increment
button8 : loop on/off

TOP row (round buttons), left to right :

button1 : FX1 Freeze on/off
button2 : FX2 Freeze on/off
button3 : FX3 Freeze on/off
button4 : FX4 Freeze on/off
button5 & 6 : unused
button7 : master bpm decrease
button8 : master bpm increase

It’s my first try, so I will probably post upgraded versions at later time …

PS : using the PDF I made an overlay by printing on a transparent paper, fixing it on my launchpad with velcro (so I can switch it for various uses), it’s working fine !

Absolutely wicked! I love how you’ve applied the overlay using transparent paper as well. I don’t own one of these control surfaces, but this would be an instant wrecker for anybody who did.

Great job ! I’m planning to buy a novation launchpad & I guess I’ll test your mapping right after :slight_smile:

Mapping works great. I would like to add a headphone cue on the unused button to the left of the top load buttons on each channel, with a toggle off (low yellow LED), and ON being a bright red LED (maybe blinks when playing). Any help would be appreciated.

I added a headphone graphic to the pdf which I will post later when I get home.

I am also trying out a spray film that will stabilize the laser print on the transparency to aid with longevity of the transparency printing, as well as darken it up for contrast. Discussed this stuff with this company and it’s supposed to work as I expect it to as a clear sealant.

I used the same grid to make overlays for my Live sessions in photoshop. The sealant will give a longer wear life for about $7 a can… maybe 40 uses.

I also added a template spot on the transparency to place Velcro coins. This way you know exactly where to place the velcro on each sheet so it fits the Launchpad velcro configuration.

TONER AID IS DA SHEIT!!! Darkened up the contrast print on the transparency, and provided a clear waterproof barrier that will inhibit wear of the printing… hence you won’t have to keep making new overlays as often. $8.99 on Amazon.. and it works.

One can should do 40 overlays… so it will last a long time.

For a second I thought you had your Launchpad positioned inside a special case for your computer haha I was like wtf whered he get that.
Really prime setup, I’ve been considering adding a launchpad to my setup for awhile now, this is kind of motivating me more
