DJ TT 2.4 + jogwheel track browsing ?

DJ TT 2.4 + jogwheel track browsing ?

Hi there

Is it possible to browse my tracklist with the jogwheel ?

My Device Vestax VCI-100, FW 1.3,TP 1.2, mapping DJ TT 2.4

I don’t want to remap ean’s settings.If there is already a
mapping, please tell me how, i didn’t figured out how it works, or
is it otherway possible to browse fast thru the tracklist with button combination ?

i remember, but i am not sure , that i have seen a video tutorial of
the vci-100 with jogwheel track browsing.

the jogwheel track-browsing mapping is one of my favorite functions ever.

unfortunately i had to stop using that .tsi because i was having major problems and freezes because my vci firmware was 1.2, and that .tsi was made specifically for 1.3.

the jogwheels are the only “endless” rotary encoders on the vci, and scrolling through the playlist is just not the same when using buttons to go up and down… This function makes me touch the computer less.

i believe this function has been dropped in the current official DJ TechTools mappings for traktor pro, i could be wrong though.

If it has, i would love to see a new official version with this feature added. Also, if there i a way to make both jog wheels do the same functions when in browsing mode, because i would find myself “scrolling” the playlist with the wrong jogwheel from time to time (causing unwanted pitch bending on the track playing out sometimes).

the function was dropped so we could do 4 decks (it was one or the other) but we hope to bring it back again in the future!

That makes sense Ean, thanks for clearing that up.

The track browsing feature would be great to bring back for DJ’s who only use 2 decks, or 3. If only i could nail down this new mapping system…

I’m going to work on this when the time permits.

Actually, I’ve dropped the cd style jogg & mapped it to the jogg browse.
Ie when the scratch button is off, Deck A acts as a jogg browser (the wheel sends a different midi message). Just make sure the scratch is off or else…http://www.djtechtools.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif

I’ve tried introducing an idiot-proof shift to it but because of the 2 modifiers limit was not able to.

Honestly, i’d rather have an accidental pitch bend function happen over the main system, than an accidental scratch happen…

My preferences are to stay with the CDJ style standard feel. But everybody has different techniques and workflows. whatever suits your needs.
