I was way into metal too. Iron Maiden was my fave by far. But, Metallica, Faith No More, Death Angel, GnR, and Voivod were pretty high on the list too, lol!
BTW, Ghosts n stuff sound about right to me for a 12 yr old party. Can’t go wrong.
OT(but what on this thread isnt) … what ‘edm’ got u metal guys into the scene. im sure it wasnt trance haha. more specifically, what metal tunes would you drop in a set?

no MF’ing joke - my friend says this guys name this way. at first i was like “who?” .. then there was the horror..
It wasn’t actually anything heavy in the metal sense that got me into edm. Always had an open mind and just started digging the deep sounds and pulse of machine driven music. A friend turned me on to Orbital way back when, another The Orb, just started seeking things out after that. DnB really hit home, and actually, I LOVED trance for a time.
I’ll definitely drop metal riffs in a set, well placed or mashed up, the sky’s the limit.

I worked at the Maiden concert here when i was 16. Got to meet the band etc.
Was awesome! Loved them and their Posters!
It was, however, Psytrance that got me into EDM.
Specifically DJ Tsuyoshi Suzuki who came to Cape Town annually.
That’s where my love for DJing stems from.
