DJing Gone Right !

DJing Gone Right !

Gives me hope for house music. Eastern Europe is bangin’ it these days.

Go Hungary:

The first two DJ’s get the place rockin’ and then the third guy euthanizes the dancefloor and the last guy (thinks he’s a superstar) freezes it.

of course the first guy killed it. did you see those wrist bands he’s rockin?!?!

goes from like a minimal/progressive to a deep house… bad call on the last djs part if anything he should have been the first dj

Jay lumen has put out a lot of good tech house in the past year

Love that tribute remix lumen starts out with

good tunes:

sorry guys , i just dont get it?

it’s called rhythm. you have to be born with it.

A lot of good Techno coming out of eastern europe too these days thanks to 1605.

oh, and yes, Jay Lumen kicks ass.

exactly. What a massive boring night.

Love the comment after you posted that

4/4 kick all night is definitely a rhythm. No argument there.

i just dont get the whole put on a track bounce n bob around like a bouye for 3 minutes, grab next cd, mix gently, twiddle knobs, slip out of first track, and go back to bouncin n bobin’… maybe it just cos im a hiphop/tablism fiend… but the whole thing just looks lazy to me.. sorry i dont mean to insult, i just dont see the performance in it

Just a different vibe. You know that. It’s all good though.

I am glad you ears don’t process the percussion instruments and the syncopated samples between the 4/4 beat. In fact, house music is based around the discipline of the 4/4. The 4/4 is the constant. It’s what you do around it that defines house music.

DJing is not always about performance, it’s about moving the crowd. Dance music DJing started with disco. The DJ was in a little booth where no one could see him. The music was what moved you all night long. If I close my eyes it should sound good. A lot of performance DJ’s are fun to watch but their soundtrack is wack. It takes talent to carry a dancefloor, that’s what Jay Lumen does.

is this a “wack” soundtrack… is the crowd not entertained? id def say no to the first and hell f*ckin yeah to the second

Notice I said " a lot of performance DJ’s" not “All performance DJ’s” this guy Z-Trip (like Girl Talk) put some thought into his mix. He’s not scratching every 10 seconds and he actually let’s the crowd dig into the beat before cutting to the next track. Now if can only stay off the microphone he would be 10% better.

let’s please not let this thread go down the road it’s headed…

apples and oranges…

word.

I don’t even have the energy or patience anymore to do that
