Hey guys I have a few questions that I need some assistance with. I currently have tp2 with an s4. The club I play at regularly uses two cdj 900’s and a djm 900 nexus.
With the DJM-900 Nexus being traktor scratch certified, if i purchase the traktor scratch pro 2 upgrade what will I need to do in order to walk into the club, plug my laptop in and be ready to go? Is there updating involved or drivers that are needed?
Also will the upgrade allow the s4 to act as a dvs system as well or would i need to purchase the full version of tsp2?
Why would you connect the mixer to Traktor ?
Imo you are losing the quality of a real good mixer, to control Traktor’s mixer ? cmon you just can’t prefer Traktor’s bad EQ to a real kill on frequencies, not mentionning the sound color fx etc..
I suggest you plug both 900s to your MBP, create an “aggregated device” i guess it’s how it’s called in english and then, use them as a soundcard for Traktor, and mix with an external mixer.
You will still be enjoying Traktor, track display etc, and having the DJM 900 nexus as an external mixer will allow you to enjoy the Pioneer quality.
About pluging the 900, i can’t help you cause i don’t have one and don’t know how that works, but if you decide to use the solution i gave to you, i can explain it more deeply
i have a similar wondering, theres a club ive played in that has one, and im considering buying one around xmas. if i plug in to the nexus, will it automatically route the inputs of ch1 and 2 into traktor for dvs control without having to fiddle for a couple of mins? (thats how i have my audio 8 set up…
No drivers for mac, but there are with PC’s. they’re available from the Pioneer site.
The S4 upgrade is a full version of Scratch, but the S4 will operate normally. It just gives you the ability to plug TT’s into the S4 and use timecode.
So photojojo a certified upgrade to tsp2 will allow me to be ready to go with the 900 nexus? Also in reference to the external mixer use would you not still be able to use the effects with the 900nexus if it was set to internal mixer?
