Apparently he was doing a stutter effect. Nowadays, you need CDJ 2000’s to do stutter effects.

yeah i was a bit baffled as to what he was doing but it was meant to be a school so we can let him off but he did mess it up after 3 mins of trying to cue it too

I mean, he might have been doing some kinda technique i dont know about.
At some points the fader is up so is he tapping on a cued up kick drum thats got loads of delay on it and using a phasing filter to get a wooosh ??? Maybe.
It just looks like a lot of tapping for no reason to me.
perhaps he is some kind of secret agent spy and is tapping a morse code to someone somewhere about kidnapping ellaskins with his super modified cdj morse code sender thingybob…
