I’ve seen nothing but rave reviews about the X1600, but being that its twice the price of the X600, Im not so sure I can justify buying it. Does anyone have any experience with the DN-X600? or would someone like to help persuade me in why I should buy the X1600? lol
I’m currently in the market for a DN X-1600. What you’ve got to bare in mind when comparing these 2 mixers is that one is a 4 channel mixer (X1600) and ones a 2 channel mixer (X600). What are you planning on using it for/what gear are you wanting to hook it up with?
I am planning on doing a setup of 2 decks and a X1 in which I dont have immediate need/plans for. I wanna get the feel for analogue but I wanna be efficient and versatile (aka cheap and cost efficient) at the same time. After looking at more pricing the X600 is actually 2/3 the price of the X1600 @ retail, which begs to differ the added amount in the 1600 is worth it.
I just did a rough shipping calculation and it looks like about 250 USD shipping. I’m trying to sell the x1700 for 1300 USD but will go down to 1200 which would make it about 1450 with the shipping, or roughly 875 pounds. Not sure what other fees might come into play for you though?
(note the above is really rough based on a guess of 30 lbs shipping weight and guessed dimensions; I’m not at home with the box in front of me but PM me if you’re serious and I’ll figure out the exact dimensions and costs)
I have the DN X600 and have tried the X1600. If you’re planning to go for 2 channels, the X600 is the obvious choice. However, the X1600 has some added functionality besides the 2 extra channels which might help you decide:
Midi on/off switch per channel (on the 600 this is a combined signal)
Extra strips of midi only buttons (4) and endless rotaries (4) in 4 banks
Few more effects
Adjustable EQ bands
Pretty big extra functionality I reckon for the price.
