Does the TA2 come with cables ?

Does the TA2 come with cables ?

Hi all,

I’ve been trying to figure out if the Traktor Audio 2 comes with RCA to Jack cables ?
I wouldn’t want to order this and come to the conclusion that I can’t connect it to my mixer, and have to order cables.

Thanks

EDIT:
I read somewhere that it does come with 2x 1/4" to RCA cables.
Can anyone confirm this ?

You get one cable with it.

Jester where are you gettin that you only get one cable with it? i clicked the link and it just takes you to the TA2 page,

But i bought one in the summer and it came with a pair of cables.
So in answer to your question, yes.

“You can either output both channels individually via 1/4’’ jacks to your DJ mixer using the supplied adapter cable, or mix internally in TRAKTOR, using one output to monitor your headphone mix and use the other as your master out. With the pocket-sized TRAKTOR AUDIO 2, you’re ready to rock the clubs and after parties instantly - it doesn’t get more portable than this.”

Well if it comes with two, bonus

Yes, I bought one recently and it comes with two 1/4" to RCA cables, presumably for connecting to your mixer.

Plural at one area and singluar at the other,

Nevermind it comes with two anyway.

Defo 2 cables.

Lost in translation
Always a good idea to have a spare set of cables anyway guys.

Thanks all !

Oh and do Audio 2 soundcards sell well on ebay ? If ever I plan on getting an A6 for TS

Can I ask possibly why is it a big deal that it comes with cables? am I missing something? Like cables are expensive?

I’m getting my stuff from an online store. If I order the Xone:22, X1 and A2 by 20h, they are delivered the following day.
So when I get all my stuff so fast, I want to get playing with it as fast as possible too. So imagine you have all that stuff, and you don’t have the cables to hook it all up. That would suck right ?
That’s why I do some headache prevention and ask around. Because now I know that I won’t come to stand before any surprises

(if their wouldn’t have been cables included, I would have ordered them with the rest of the stuff)

I really really recommend you get a TA6 rather than an audio dj 2 if you are getting a Xone 22.

The extra in can be used for recording, or fx loop, or sample decks (an unknown side effect of the analog FX loop I have found is that anything you play on the FX return comes out of the master of the mixer  ).

An ADJ2 doesn’t have enough channels to take advantage of the ins and outs of the xone 22.

Wait, how does that work ? I don’t really understand what the FX loop function is, and how would you hook it up to the A6 ?

okay okay,

  1. If you are using traktor in external mixer mode, the mixer’s output needs to be routed back into traktor if you want to record it. The Xone 22’s record out can be routed back into traktor for recording. (or any other DAW for that matter). You need a spare input for that.

  2. The Xone 22 connections for an external FX loop. Traktor can be configured as an external FX processor. I route the FX send and return RCA connectors to the “Main” in and out of my TA6.

  3. Traktor pro 2 has sample decks. One way which I have found to utilise them is to set the sample decks to my “mains” ouput of my TA6 and hook that to the return input of the Xone.

I dun believe you can accomplish these things with the ADJ2

Thanks for explaining. I understand way better now.

The hting is, the A2 goes for 95 euro, the A6 for 240.
That’s a big difference. Is it worth it ?

Only you can answer that… The A2 only has stero outputs. So it has the 2 stereo channels required to support a 2 channel mixer or internally mix. The TA6 has ins and outs… and its a 3 stereo channnel sound card.

Basically the more stereo channels you have the more flexibility you have in terms of routing and hardware sound manipulation.

If you plan on doing everything in software then you only need 2 stereo channels.
However you are planning on buying a Xone 22, thats an analog mixer… therefore, you are not likely to do everything in software.

Mine only came with one splitter. Just order an extra one. It’ll only cost a few dollars and having an extra on hand is a good idea anyway.

What’s the advantage of using post-fader effects ?

Because if I use pre-fader effects, and wire the record output of the Xone:22 into the audio-in on the side of my mac I can record as well.
This way I could just use an A2 right ?

Post fader effects simply mean that if you were running more than one deck you could filter the entire thing, or apply an effect that would effect the entire thing.

So basically the effects work on the master output ?
